At the Jenell Bear Shop (she touched up the original design and digitized it to today's standard) at Redbubble, the link in the button below.
Clearly printed, three sections for Common, and two versions: 2nd ACG and 361st FS.
Nice booklet and in partial color to help make assembly much easier to understand. The CON here: all color references are for Humbrol.
Nice color pages for the optional markings for each version. Both markings are from 1945.
Very light blueish hue tinted sprue, the plastic feels a bit soft. I think this is typical Airfix, but personally I don't mind this aspect of the kit.
Lines are very crisp and flash free. Holes to be pre drilled for external stores. planning is key prior to building.
There are plenty of options for this version of the kit. I love the flight control position options and the specific degree positions they can be placed in.
Many options here for a few version of the P-51. Exhaust - Shrouded and unshrouded, air filter covers - both types offered and both wheel tread style. Oil cooler exhaust can be positioned in two positions.
Weapons frame offers the rocket tubes.
Frame E offers eom very impressive parts not only are they well done. I am noticing the advantages of well thought out engineering.
Side views of the canopies. two version given: typically the canopy closest to the camera was usually used on P-51D, the aft version was typically used on the P-51K. However, they would fit on both types of aircraft and would be used on both in the field. note the little bump on the aft middle section. this was to accommodate the roller for the antenna wire.
The engineering I spoke of earlier...notice the two types of windscreens and how they are molded as part of the panels fwd of the windscreen. I would rather fix a small gap in panels than the typical gap where the windscreen meets the airframe. Thank you Airfix for that! the windscreen difference between the two: one accommodates a rear view mirror seen on the British Mk 1.
